John 9:1-5
9:2—a peculiar question. The disciples had seen many miracles by Jesus, and they had never seen Jesus asking anybody about their sin before ministering to them.
*Be aware of where our thoughts are. Bring them to obedience.
*This version is often used to teach about the generational curse, which by itself is a wrong doctrine.
Exodus 20:3-6—“jealous God” the word for “jealous” is actually a positive one. V5: curse only applies to those who hate God.
Ezekiel 18:9-13—It is not God’s desire to punish everyone for their sin.
2 Peter 3:9—God does not desire anyone to perish in their sin.
