In Christ, we are blessed, not cursed. We are free indeed in Christ.
2 Cor 5:17—“…new creature. Old things are passed away. All things have become new.”
Even if the doctrine of generational curse is correct, according to 2 Cor 5:17, it （generational curse) will have been passed away. All things have become new. All means all.
2 Cor 5:21—“…for He has made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” We are His righteousness, and God makes no mistakes. Jesus did not leave anything undone.
The basic idea behind the doctrine of generational curses: Jesus’s accomplished work was not enough. Apply critical thinking here.
Eph 1:1-3—We are the faithful in Christ Jesus. This epistle is written for us as well.
As we read this epistle, our response to it should be to receive it.
V.3: “…who HAS blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings in the Heavenly places in Christ…” This happened when we came into Christ. All means all. Even if the doctrine of the generational curse is true, this verse (Eph 1:3) has negated it.
The doctrine of the generational curse is man’s invention, which keeps people in bondage.
2 Peter 1:1-4—This epistle also applies to us. “Grace and peace be multiplied onto you…” There is no disclaimer regarding the generational curse here. We have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness…exceedingly.
Numbers 23:8—As New Testament Saints, God has never called us cursed. Balaam could not curse those whom God had not cursed. We can choose the curse the enemy tries to put on us. We shall reject it.
By His stripes, we were healed. We stay steadfast, and hold the ground. We are oracles of God, so we cannot say somebody is under any generational curse. We should be busy talking about generational blessings.
Exodus 20:5-6; Deuteronomy 5:9-10—“…generations of those that hate Me (God)…”
God’s faithfulness is to thousand generations of those who love Him and His commandments.
Ezekiel 18:1-23—It is God talking here. All three generations have choices.
Generation curse teachings take choices away. They make excuses for sickness and sin. The power of God comes in and gets the job done.
V.20—Direct rebuttal on the generational curse teachings. God holds everybody accountable for their own deeds, not the generation behind them.
God takes no pleasure at all in the dying of the wicked.
Q1: I have gone through hell on earth with my 15-year autistic son in the past 2.5 years and I was seeking healing/deliverance from multiple ministries who claimed to heal/deliver. But, once they heard 'autism', some of them simply backed off as if it was something impossible to deal with. The rest of them tried and failed to help
him. That made me wonder, 'what is so special about autism?' What is your experience about healing autism/ADHD/aggression/self-injurious/property destruction related behaviors?
A: There isn’t really anything special in these. One thing we know to be true is that every knee should bow and every lip should confess to the name of Jesus Christ.
Many ministries fail to know the nature of God, who is a healer.
Never call that son autistic again. Don’t curse kids with those labels. Remind the boy of who he is. Help him break his habits.
Q2: What about recent word curses or witchcraft post accepting Christ?
A: You get to combat those curses with words of blessings. Reject them. Declare the word of life over your life.
We have Jesus in us, and nobody/no demons can curse Jesus.
Generational curses are effective ONLY IF we believe them and have faith in them.
Witchcraft is no difference. It is effective against us ONLY IF we believe it is effective on us.
Proverbs 20:6—useful in combating this.
Q3: I have heard curry mention generational iniquity- and familiar spirits- but no generational curses- some look very similar
A: Generational sin or inequity has choice behind it. If we are in Christ, we are not cursed, but absolutely blessed. Those who are outside Christ are at the mercy of the enemy.
Q4: I have not heard much about "generational curses", but I have heard of Augustine's "original sin" and Calvin's "total depravity". All of this we are supposed to inherit from Adam's sin. That sounds like a generational curse over all of us. Can I reject these as well?
A: Adam’s sin is taken care of by the second Adam, Christ. We are under the second Adam, not the first. We are the new creation! We are either new creation in Christ, or not.
Q5: so, comparing the scripture in Exodus to that in Ezekiel, is God saying in Exodus that my mercy is infinitely greater (1000 generations) than my punishment (4 generations) even though He doesn't take delight in punishment? also from OT to NT, we see God clearly explaining His point in Exodus?
A: Religion always tries to find fault in God. We are new creation, so we cannot be cursed.
Q6: There are Healing Ministries that covered Galatian 3.13 , our new identity in Christ and authority related verses. However, they led us through long session on renouncing past sins, including those of our ancestors that brought about consequences to the believers. Such sessions are carried out by the believers being alone with Holy Spirit who will reveal past sins of the believer and ancestors . They
played videos on testimonies of many who were set free after such course . Please enlighten.
A: Well, Jesus did not do anything like this in the New Testament. He never did any counselling session. He did not instruct us to do it, either. Such sessions make people re-live past hurt and look back, making them unfit for the Kingdom. The issue is the lack of understanding of who they are in Christ.
Q7: Can those of us praying for our loved ones who are yet to be saved PRAY for them to be protected from curses and delivered from oppression as HOLY SPIRIT draws them toward salvation???
A: According to your faith, be it done unto you. Declare Eph 1:17-21 over your loved ones and your house.
